QUALIFICATIONS

Applicant must be a paid, active member of the Chapter and in good standing to receive a scholarship award.

Applications must be submitted a minimum of forty-five (45) calendar days prior to the registration deadline, unless communicated otherwise.

Members may apply for multiple scholarships; however, only one scholarship within a twelve (12) month period can be awarded to a member.

A single scholarship can apply to the full payment of the class/training/professional certification, etc. or partial payment. Any applicant requesting or accepting a partial payment scholarship must guarantee they or their agency is able to pay the balance, or the scholarship will be forfeited and awarded to the next scholarship recipient. Payment amounts will be dependent upon the availability of funds and factors described under the "Funding" section above.

Scholarship recipients cannot transfer their scholarship to another person without approval from the Committee Chair.

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

The Committee will review all scholarship requests and award a scholarship based on the following criteria:

Professional Procurement Goals: Applicant shall submit information that lists their goals in the procurement profession and how the class/training/professional certification, etc. will obtain their goals.

Contributions to the Procurement Profession and/or the Chapter: Applicant shall provide information that shows contributions the individual has made to the procurement profession and/or the Chapter within the last two (2) years.

Financial Need Statement: Scholarship funds used due to financial need can only be used for expenses that are not covered by other reimbursements from the agency or other granting sources. Applicant must note in their application all other payments or reimbursements to be received from any other sources.

If the applicant is employed and the class/training/professional certification, etc. will occur during scheduled work hours, the application requires acknowledgement from the applicant's direct supervisor.

Race, creed, color, national origin, gender, age, or the employment status of the applicant (other than within public procurement) will not be considered when awarding Chapter scholarships.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Applicants are required to submit a complete application package (application form and any additional information). Failure to submit a complete application package may disqualify the applicant. Applicants must complete and submit their application to the Committee Chair at a minimum of forty-five (45) calendar days in advance of the registration or application.

The applicant may provide additional supporting documentation that the applicant believes would assist the Committee in their evaluation of the complete application package.

All application materials become the property of the Chapter and will be held confidential. Applications will be held in accordance with retention requirements for IRS Section 501(c)3 Corporations.

The Committee Chair will arrange for the Committee to review and evaluate applications received.
